Since 2013,  the Projects and Cores of the Oncofertility Consortium and Center for Reproductive Health After Disease published 80 papers; this group of papers has been collectively cited over 715 times by authors publishing in a diverse range of subject areas including: Medicine, Biochemistry, Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, and the Social Sciences. Our work has been cited by authors in over 50 countries and in 7 languages, illustrating the global influence of this work (Scopus).

Additionally, these 80 papers have a weighted Relative Citation Ratio (RCR) of 100, indicating this is a highly influential set of papers relative to other NIH-funded papers. For reference, the Relative Citation Ratio is a field-normalized metric that shows the scientific influence of one or more articles relative to the average NIH-funded paper; an RCR of 1.00 indicates that a paper has receive the same number of cites/year as the average NIH-funded paper. An RCR of 100 indicates that our papers are out-performing other NIH benchmark papers in the field. Furthermore, 16 papers are in the 80th percentile or greater amongst NIH-funded publications (iCite Tool).

In addition to excelling by the standards of traditional bibliometrics, our work has been featured in over 240 news stories worldwide, including features in US News Health, PBS, and the Chicago Tribune. This work has been collectively tweeted over 335 times by the medical community, legal community, and fertility organizations and advocates. This activity indicates our successful dissemination our work beyond academia and demonstrates public engagement and interest in the field (Altmetrics). To date, Altmetric has tracked 8,623,822 research outputs across all sources so far.
