National Infertility Awareness Week is April 22-28, 2018. NIAW is a collaborative effort on the part of the millions of women and men diagnosed with infertility and the nation’s medical, mental health, family building experts and policymakers to raise awareness about infertility.

This year’s theme is to “Flip the Script” and was created so anyone who cares about the infertility community can feel empowered to do something that makes a difference, either in your own family building journey or to help someone else. Infertility impacts millions of Americans and does not discriminate based on race, religion, socioeconomic status or sexuality. “Flip the script” and become part of the movement.

On April 25, from 2 to 3 pm Eastern, ASRM will take part in what has become a National Infertility Awareness Week tradition- the NIAW Twitter Chat!

Please join ASRM and others as CEO Richard Reindollar, MD, tweets for ASRM (@reprodmed), joining experts from NICHD (@NICHD_NIH); RESOLVE (@resolve.org); HHS’ Office of Women’s Health (@womenshealth); and CDC (@CDCChronic) will be tweeting too.

Contribute your knowledge and experience to the discussion and encourage your patients to follow the chat and ask their own questions.

The Twitter Chat is organized by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and covers risk factors and treatment options for infertility, research, ways to talk about infertility, and more. The Twitter Chat is not intended to offer medical advice to individuals.

Please join in; put it in your calendar- April 25, 2 pm EDT. And follow these hashtags: #InfertiltyChat and #NIAW.

This year participating organizations include: the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health (OWH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (CDC NCCDPHP), and RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association
